The Tyrants On The Loudoun BOS Are Trying To Ram The Meals Tax Down Our Throats Again

Wednesday, October 28, 2009

In case you haven't heard yet, the tyrants on the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors are trying to ram a meals tax down our throats again, this time without a vote (because it was voted down in 1998, 2002, and 2008). Like good little tyrants, if you can't get public support, you find a way to ram it down the public's throats whether they like it or not (which, in this case, they despise it). They must be taking advice from the tyrants pushing the ObamaLackOfCare socialist healthcare industry seizure! But, then again, the Loudoun BOS did build the county government building after it was voted down, so they've been experts at finding the way around election results against their wishes since Obama was community organizin' on the mean streets of Chi-town (and not organizin' from the White House like he is now).

No surprise, Eugene Delgaudio (R-Sterling Park) was the voice of reason as usual on the board on the losing end of another 8-1 vote where he stood up for freedom against tyrrany.

The vote was whether to ask the General Assembly to grant counties the authority to impose a 6.5% meals tax and other taxes that towns and cities are allowed to ram down their citizens' throats without a vote. Currently, counties can impose a 4% meals tax if passed through referendum, not at the whim of the BOS.
Delgaudio sent out an e-mail to his constituents on October 26, 2009 that he will fight this and that "[t]he Republican Party will take up a resolution asking legislators to take a position and for whoever is elected Governor to veto the Loudoun Board's request."
It looks like that will be Bob McDonnell (in a landslide) and I hope he will veto this without a second thought if it makes it that far.
Here's the full section from Delgaudio's e-mail on the subject:

>>>STOP THE MEALS TAX 2009 update

The board of supervisors voted 8 yes, 1 no (Delgaudio) to ask Richmond for taxing authority for admission to events in the county, cigerette taxes and the meals tax. I am fighting this and will keep you posted. Many newspapers are beginning to report on this shocking development since the citizens voted down the meals tax three times (1998, 2002 and 2008).

The Republican Party will take up a resolution asking legislators to take a position and for whoever is elected Governor to veto the Loudoun Board's request.
We here at Don't Tread On Virginia salute your constant fighting for freedom, Supervisor Delgaudio! Keep fighting the good fight and don't let them tread on Loudoun either!

I Can't Wait to See the Looks on King Kaine the Tyrannical and Obama's Faces On Nov. 3!

Sunday, October 25, 2009

King Kaine the Tyrannical and Barack Hussein Obama (Mmm...Mmm...Mmm...) thought they turned Virginia blue. I can't wait to see the looks on their faces on the night of November 3 when Virginia's true RED colors shine through and we win triple landslides! Imagine the extra insult to injury if Jon Corzine is tossed out in New Jersey too!

The glorious signs of big, looming Democrat sufferings are all over the SurveyUSA poll released on October 20 showing Bob McDonnell ahead by 19 points, Bill Bolling ahead by 14 points, and Ken Cuccinelli ahead by 15 points. Remember, when Democrats suffer defeat, America wins, Virginia wins, freedom wins, capitalism wins, and real Americans win!

Now, on to my analysis of the poll:

The poll sampled
900 Virginian adults from October 17-19, 2009. 814 of those sampled were registered to vote and 595 were judged to be likely voters. 195 (33%) of these likely voters described themselves as Republicans, 191 (32%) as Democrats, and 197 (33%) as Independents. 252 (43%) described themselves as conservative, 236 (40%) as moderate, and 78 (13%) as liberal. 297 (50%) were men and 298 (50%) were women. Note, that unlike many other polls in this race, this poll sampled party affiliation fairly evenly.

In the Race for Governor:
Margin of Sampling Error: +/-4%
McDonnell: 59% (+19%)
Deeds: 40%
Undecided: 1%

McDonnell is leading with men and women, all age groups, Republicans, Independents, college grads and non-college grads, rich and poor, McCain voters, and in all regions of the Commonwealth.

McDonnell has the support of 71% of Independents, but only 44% of Moderates compared to Deeds's 55% support. This underscores the reason why Republicans need to run and govern as principled conservatives to win over the Independents instead of moderating to them. Independents are not all wishing-washy moderates. Many hold conservative views, but may not realize that they are really conservatives. A conservative, articulate candidate will win them over by being conservative in principle and practice, not by being a spineless moderate.

He's also winning the support of 12% of Democrats, 9% of Liberals, and 19% of Obama voters.

Plus, only 1% of voters are still undecided! I really hope this landslide comes to fruition! Just imagine the looks on Obama and his lackey Kaine's deceitful faces!

In the Race for Lieutenant Governor:
Margin of Sampling Error: +/-4.1%
Bolling: 56% (+14%)
Wagner: 42%
Undecided: 2%

Bolling is also leading with men and women, all age groups, Republicans, Independents, college grads and non-college grads, rich and poor, McCain voters, and in all regions of the Commonwealth.

He's got the support of 64% of Independents, while losing the Moderates, underscoring my previous point again about not moderating to the Independents.

12% of Democrats, 9% of Liberals, and 15% of Obama voters support Bill Bolling.

Only 2% are undecided!

In the Race for Attorney General:
Margin of Sampling Error: +/-4.1%
Cuccinelli: 56% (+15%)
Shannon: 41%
Undecided: 2%

Cuccinelli is also leading with men and women, all age groups, Republicans, Independents, college grads and non-college grads, rich and poor, McCain voters, and in all regions of the Commonwealth except the Southeast.

Many of those supposedly on the right claimed that Cuccinelli was doomed to fail because he was too conservative to get elected. In light of these predictions, let's see how the most conservative candidate on the ticket is fairing with non-right-wingers compared with McDonnell and Bolling:

Democrat support:
1) Cuccinelli: 14% to 84%
2) Bolling: 12% to 86%
3) McDonnell: 12% to 87%

Independent support:
1) McDonnell: 71% to 27%
2) Cuccinelli: 67% to 30%
3) Bolling: 64% to 34%

Moderate support:
1) Cuccinelli: 44% to 53%
2) McDonnell: 44% to 55%
3) Bolling: 42% to 55%

Liberal support:

1) Cuccinelli: 14% to 85%
2) Bolling: 9% to 90%
3) McDonnell: 9% to 91%

Cuccinelli is indisputably the most conservative candidate on the ticket both in principle and practice, yet he has the most support amongst non-right-wingers!

Only 2% undecided in this race!

Summary:
Let's hope these numbers are correct. Public Policy Polling is also showing growing leads, and they've had problems with Democrat bias in the past in Virginia. Rush Limbaugh has also exposed Public Policy Polling's liberal bias too many times to count over the years. I just hope King Kaine the Tyrannical will have to move mountain...move (ala his DNC Convention speech) a mountain of tears from his face along with Obama!

Sing with me:
He takes a tissue from the box, mmm...mmm...mmm, Barack Hussein Obama, to wipe and dry his crying face, mmm...mmm...mmm, Barack Hussein Obama, Virginia's red and he is blue, mmm...mmm...mmm, Barack Hussein Obama, his lackey Kaine saved not his face, mmm...mmm...mmm, Barack Hussein Obama, he sealed their fate with his disgrace, mmm...mmm...mmm, Barack Hussein Obama, failures are the liberals' fate, mmm...mmm...mmm, Barack Hussein Obama, Barack Hussein Obama...

Washington Post Endorses "Dirty" Deeds

Monday, October 19, 2009

We all knew it was coming. The Washington Post endorsed Democrat Creigh Deeds for governor here in the Commonwealth of Virginia on Sunday. Well, actually, a liberal paper from the most liberal place in the country, the District of Columbia, endorsed a liberal in the governor's race here in Virginia from within the limits of the District of Columbia. They want to make the Commonwealth of Virginia, where capitalism first arrived in America in 1607, like their little socialist "paradise" in the District.

They've endorsed him, so now I'm going to tear apart the Post's arguments using the weight of their own arguments:

1) They claim that "Mr. McDonnell has staked out the intolerant terrain on his party's right wing, fighting a culture war that seized his imagination as a law student in the Reagan era" and "[d]espite his rural roots, Mr. Deeds has been ideologically flexible enough to support abortion rights; press for background checks on firearms buyers at gun shows; oppose displaying the Confederate flag on state license plates; and warm to equal rights for homosexuals."

Excuse me, but abortion, guns, free-speech, and the gay agenda are key battles in the culture war! So, if you agree with the Post on all of these issues and have worked to implement them, you've "compiled a moderate record on divisive social issues that reflects Virginia's status as a centrist swing state." But, if you're on the other side of the Post regarding these issues, you're "intolerant" and "fighting a culture war."

Maybe the culture war is like the Global War on Terror under Bill Clinton, one side declared war and is fighting, while the other is doing nothing (oops, I forgot about Monica!). But then the Obama administration did say that us right-wingers and our soldiers are terrorists and the Post is simply a parrot of the Obama administration, so I guess that comparison is apt.

2) The Post correctly claims that "Mr. McDonnell has sought to corner Mr. Deeds by focusing on debates in Washington over energy policy, labor union membership and other contentious federal issues." And quite successfully, I might add. But the b.s. begins again in the next sentence: "But a governor of Virginia can do little to influence the ideologically charged debates raging on Capitol Hill."

Hello, the U.S. Constitution does not enumerate powers to the federal government "over energy policy, labor union membership and [most] other contentious federal issues." So, by the 10th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, these powers "are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people." Therefore, the governor and legislature of Virginia have these powers and they are being usurped by an out-of-control federal government. It is the duty of the governor and attorney general to defend the sovereignty of the Commonwealth of Virginia against federal encroachment and dare I say, nullify these intrusions within the borders of the Commonwealth if all else fails.

3) They claim that "[g]leeful Republicans, convinced that Mr. Deeds has dealt his own candidacy a lethal blow by his stance on taxes, have seized on it as evidence that Mr. Deeds is heedless of the financial strains on ordinary Virginians." Yes, that is Deeds to a T, but the Post goes on to say that "[a] recession is no time to raise taxes, [Republicans] say; never mind that any solution is unlikely to be in place until recovery is underway."

Well that's quite a load, isn't it? Yes, the roads won't be built for quite some time, thanks to the enviro-Marxists and assessment after assessment that will be needed to placate their anti-human agenda and skyrocket costs so we'll think twice before we drive anywhere.

But, the taxes will probably go into effect immediately, or the next July 1st after the passage of the massive bill produced by the "bipartisan [i.e., partisan] commission [Deeds dictates] to forge [i.e., ram through] a consensus [of tax-hiking liberals] on transportation funding [i.e., taxes], with the full expectation that new [astronomically-excessive] taxes would be part of the mix." Think back to the bipartisan, unconstitutional, 2007 "transportation" debacle that Democrats love to blame on Republicans, despite the fact that King Kaine the Tyrannical was knee deep in that mess, as were many Democrats. Remember Kaine stripped the language from the abusive fees section, making them only apply to Virginia drivers. As horrendous a concept it was before Kaine did his dirty work, he made it worse.

More analysis to come...
