LoudounI.com Poll Incompetence: If the members of Loudoun's Board of Supervisors were all up for re-election today, who would you want voted out of office?

Wednesday, March 31, 2010

Sorry I haven't posted anything in a while, I've been dealing with some family issues.

I'm a little late on this topic, but I have some interesting insights on it.  Recently, LoudounI.com had the following online poll:

If the members of Loudoun's Board of Supervisors were all up for re-election today, who would you want voted out of office?

Stevens Miller (D-Dulles), extreme leftist, was winning the poll (to be voted out of office).  Then, a voting-bot was obviously put into use by the left-wingers to try to force Eugene Delgaudio (R-Sterling), conservative patriot to win the poll.  I seriously doubt this was illegal since the bots were merely voting, not trying to cause a Denial of Service or gain access to server.  Rather, it exposes incompetence in the management of the online poll because there are relatively simple ways to prevent this from happening if the webmaster put enough value in the poll to take the time to secure it.

The poll uses (it's still open) a simple HTML form that submits an HTTP POST request to transmit the vote and an ID for the poll itself, not the particular vote.  It is very easy to generate an HTTP POST request from any computer or server, submit it to the poll server, and vote, over and over again automatically.

One way the webmaster could deter this without out too much server-side tracking is to include two hidden form fields, a timestamp and an encoded version of the timestamp that was hashed with another value by a function on the server.  Each time someone loads the poll web page, the values would be different.  When the poll is submitted, the timestamp and the encoded version can checked for tampering (the timestamp field in the submitted vote re-encoded by the server should equal the encoded version in the submitted vote).  To detect machine submissions, use the timestamp to make sure the vote wasn't submitted faster than humanly possible.

No online poll can ever be considered accurate, but polls where the webmaster doesn't even attempt to deter vote-bots are totally worthless.

Until LoudounI.com, secures their online polls, their polls aren't worth the time to read the results.

UPDATE:   I just saw this article: Editorial: Listening to You

This week’s poll took off, largely due to its asking readers to announce the support (or lack thereof) of the Board of Supervisors and its members. While we feel that these surveys are valuable in taking a “room temperature” of public sentiment, the polls are not intended as a scientific study. As with any online poll, there is certainly the possibility of multiple votes being cast by the same person.
The red section above should read:
As with any online poll [ON OUR WEBSITE], there is certainly the possibility [GUARANTEE] of multiple votes being cast by the same person.
If you don't at least attempt to stop poll-bots, you're guaranteed to have them destroy the results of your poll whenever the two sides of an issue get fired up on a contentious issue.

Vote Red to Make King Kaine the Tyrannical and Barack Hussein Obama (Mmm...Mmm...Mmm) Blue

Tuesday, November 3, 2009

Election day is here!!!

Vote Bob McDonnell for Governor, Bill Bolling for Lieutenant Governor, Ken Cuccinelli for Attorney General, and the Republican candidate for your House of Delegates district!

I was in line (7th person) outside the polls before they opened at 6:00 AM this morning.

The polling data looks good, but turnout is key.  We need to send a message to those trying to seize the entire healthcare system as a means to a socialist end that if those Representatives and Senators that were elected in right-leaning districts and states vote for socialism, they'll fall big like Deeds, Wagner, Shannon, and many Delegates will if we turnout in droves.  Hopefully, they'll fall either way, but we need to make them think they'll survive if they vote no on socialism, before we defeat them at the polls.  If we win in New Jersey and New York-23 too, I hope it scares the crap out of all of the phony moderates!

Virginia going overwhelmingly RED will make King Kaine the Tyrannical and Barack Hussein Obama (Mmm...Mmm...Mmm) exceptionally blue either way.  And I don't mean liberal blue, they're already that!  I mean sobbing like the man-childs that they are blue!

So, get to the polls now before they close at 7:00 PM and vote the RIGHT way!!!

I Can't Wait to See the Looks on King Kaine the Tyrannical and Obama's Faces On Nov. 3!

Sunday, October 25, 2009

King Kaine the Tyrannical and Barack Hussein Obama (Mmm...Mmm...Mmm...) thought they turned Virginia blue. I can't wait to see the looks on their faces on the night of November 3 when Virginia's true RED colors shine through and we win triple landslides! Imagine the extra insult to injury if Jon Corzine is tossed out in New Jersey too!

The glorious signs of big, looming Democrat sufferings are all over the SurveyUSA poll released on October 20 showing Bob McDonnell ahead by 19 points, Bill Bolling ahead by 14 points, and Ken Cuccinelli ahead by 15 points. Remember, when Democrats suffer defeat, America wins, Virginia wins, freedom wins, capitalism wins, and real Americans win!

Now, on to my analysis of the poll:

The poll sampled
900 Virginian adults from October 17-19, 2009. 814 of those sampled were registered to vote and 595 were judged to be likely voters. 195 (33%) of these likely voters described themselves as Republicans, 191 (32%) as Democrats, and 197 (33%) as Independents. 252 (43%) described themselves as conservative, 236 (40%) as moderate, and 78 (13%) as liberal. 297 (50%) were men and 298 (50%) were women. Note, that unlike many other polls in this race, this poll sampled party affiliation fairly evenly.

In the Race for Governor:
Margin of Sampling Error: +/-4%
McDonnell: 59% (+19%)
Deeds: 40%
Undecided: 1%

McDonnell is leading with men and women, all age groups, Republicans, Independents, college grads and non-college grads, rich and poor, McCain voters, and in all regions of the Commonwealth.

McDonnell has the support of 71% of Independents, but only 44% of Moderates compared to Deeds's 55% support. This underscores the reason why Republicans need to run and govern as principled conservatives to win over the Independents instead of moderating to them. Independents are not all wishing-washy moderates. Many hold conservative views, but may not realize that they are really conservatives. A conservative, articulate candidate will win them over by being conservative in principle and practice, not by being a spineless moderate.

He's also winning the support of 12% of Democrats, 9% of Liberals, and 19% of Obama voters.

Plus, only 1% of voters are still undecided! I really hope this landslide comes to fruition! Just imagine the looks on Obama and his lackey Kaine's deceitful faces!

In the Race for Lieutenant Governor:
Margin of Sampling Error: +/-4.1%
Bolling: 56% (+14%)
Wagner: 42%
Undecided: 2%

Bolling is also leading with men and women, all age groups, Republicans, Independents, college grads and non-college grads, rich and poor, McCain voters, and in all regions of the Commonwealth.

He's got the support of 64% of Independents, while losing the Moderates, underscoring my previous point again about not moderating to the Independents.

12% of Democrats, 9% of Liberals, and 15% of Obama voters support Bill Bolling.

Only 2% are undecided!

In the Race for Attorney General:
Margin of Sampling Error: +/-4.1%
Cuccinelli: 56% (+15%)
Shannon: 41%
Undecided: 2%

Cuccinelli is also leading with men and women, all age groups, Republicans, Independents, college grads and non-college grads, rich and poor, McCain voters, and in all regions of the Commonwealth except the Southeast.

Many of those supposedly on the right claimed that Cuccinelli was doomed to fail because he was too conservative to get elected. In light of these predictions, let's see how the most conservative candidate on the ticket is fairing with non-right-wingers compared with McDonnell and Bolling:

Democrat support:
1) Cuccinelli: 14% to 84%
2) Bolling: 12% to 86%
3) McDonnell: 12% to 87%

Independent support:
1) McDonnell: 71% to 27%
2) Cuccinelli: 67% to 30%
3) Bolling: 64% to 34%

Moderate support:
1) Cuccinelli: 44% to 53%
2) McDonnell: 44% to 55%
3) Bolling: 42% to 55%

Liberal support:

1) Cuccinelli: 14% to 85%
2) Bolling: 9% to 90%
3) McDonnell: 9% to 91%

Cuccinelli is indisputably the most conservative candidate on the ticket both in principle and practice, yet he has the most support amongst non-right-wingers!

Only 2% undecided in this race!

Summary:
Let's hope these numbers are correct. Public Policy Polling is also showing growing leads, and they've had problems with Democrat bias in the past in Virginia. Rush Limbaugh has also exposed Public Policy Polling's liberal bias too many times to count over the years. I just hope King Kaine the Tyrannical will have to move mountain...move (ala his DNC Convention speech) a mountain of tears from his face along with Obama!

Sing with me:
He takes a tissue from the box, mmm...mmm...mmm, Barack Hussein Obama, to wipe and dry his crying face, mmm...mmm...mmm, Barack Hussein Obama, Virginia's red and he is blue, mmm...mmm...mmm, Barack Hussein Obama, his lackey Kaine saved not his face, mmm...mmm...mmm, Barack Hussein Obama, he sealed their fate with his disgrace, mmm...mmm...mmm, Barack Hussein Obama, failures are the liberals' fate, mmm...mmm...mmm, Barack Hussein Obama, Barack Hussein Obama...
